Middle School Rowing Camp

ST. IGNATIUS CREW ANNOUNCEMENT: St. Ignatius Crew is excited to announce the return of the Summer Middle School Learn-to-Row Program!

The program is open to all students entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, and registration is now open.

Weekly sessions begin June 13 and end August 5.

The program is designed for young people looking to experience the sport of rowing, gain foundational technical skills, and enjoy beautiful Lake Merced in a fun and encouraging environment. Each session will focus on safety, proper body mechanics and basic physical conditioning, boat handling, terminology, warm-up and warm-down skills, and the essential building-blocks of the rowing stroke. The more weeks each participant utilizes, the greater the skill development will be.

All participants must know how to tread water for at least 10 minutes - please contact program lead Sam Nelsen at snelsen@siprep.org if the participant is unable to do so.

Weekly Session Cost: Sessions are $400 per week. For financial assistance, or to support a family in need, please contact program lead Sam Nelsen at snelsen@siprep.org.

What to wear: Athletic attire and running shoes, including layers of clothing for warm or chilly weather.

What to bring: Water bottle, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a change of clothes and a towel in case you take an unplanned dip in the lake.

What time: Drop-off by 1PM, pickup after 4PM

What grades: Entering 6-8
